About
GREGG WITT
Gregg grew up skating frozen Midwest winters, where creativity meant survival. He went on to co-found Goodtimes Skateboards—one of the first brands to successfully bridge the Midwest with California’s West Coast scene and grow into a global company. His private warehouse, known as Witt’s Funhouse Ramps and later the Goodtimes Intelligence HQ, became a magnet for skaters, builders, and dreamers. Gregg naturally gravitated toward helping cities and private builders turn vision into reality, laying the groundwork for a career that blended cultural insight with construction know-how.

That path led him to direct global action sports ramp projects for Landscape Structures, where he helped shape skateparks in more than 55 countries. He later co-founded Artifex Skatepark Environments, pioneering some of the first U.S. parks that incorporated color, natural local materials, and sculptural themes—from Black River Falls Skatepark in Wisconsin to the $2M Alamosa Center in Albuquerque. His work was featured in the Architectural Standards (final edition) alongside landscape architecture firm Morrow Reardon Miller. Beyond design, Gregg’s career expanded into brand building and campaigns with names like Disney and HBO, while always staying grounded in skate culture. Today, he serves as Ramparts’ strategist and cultural architect, ensuring every build tells a story that resonates with riders and communities alike.

About
DAVE SHYNE
Dave grew up in northern Minnesota, where pavement was scarce and if you wanted to skate, you built it yourself. At age nine, he crafted his first ramp with his dad—an early spark that grew into one of the most respected careers in skatepark construction. Dave went on to direct at Woodward Lake Owen, the Midwest’s most prestigious action sports camp, where world-class pros came every summer. He became the sought-after builder behind some of skateboarding’s most iconic projects: engineering mega ramps for televised events, creating touring setups for the Zumiez Couch Tour, and constructing private ramps for legends like Tom Boyle. More recently, he has led projects ranging from a mobile skatepark honoring Tyre Nichols’ family to a public park design-build for the city of Isanti, Minnesota.

Respected by peers as one of the most accomplished technical skatepark builders, Dave is known for his meticulous attention to detail and innovative engineering. His patented breakthroughs include the PressTech™ seamless riding surface and multiple action sports safety devices. During COVID, he set the bar for DIY skate at home, creating kits that delivered unmatched performance and durability. His craft also extends into one-off creations: a skateboard-veneer guitar for Fletcher of Pennywise, life-sized skateable minion sculptures, and custom ramps for the Adidas Family Tour, blending soccer and basketball themes into rideable art.

Together, Gregg and Dave bring technical mastery, cultural fluency, and real vision into a single mission. With 150+ successful projects worldwide—spanning public parks, private builds, touring events, and commercial productions—Ramparts has become more than a builder. It is a partner in shaping the future of action sports environments.
